February 4 is World Cancer Day, an international day to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment.
In honor of this important observance, we want to highlight some benefits resources available to help our employees and their family members who are facing cancer.
Expert Medical Advice and Second Opinions
Guidance from a medical expert can have a life-changing impact on those facing a cancer diagnosis. AECOM provides free expert medical advice and second opinions for U.S. employees enrolled in an AECOM medical plan. Our partner for this benefit is 2nd.MD, which provides access to world-renowned doctors who can give you the answers, assurance and guidance you need when it comes to cancer. They can review an existing diagnosis and treatment, and either confirm it or recommend a change. Learn more.
Advocacy Service
Our Advocacy Service, available through the AECOM Benefits Service Center, can help you find in-network cancer specialists, access specialty care centers and assist with any billing questions or issues you may have.

If you need help with household chores or with child, elder or pet care, find caregivers with your free Care.com membership. AECOM also provides subside backup are through Care.com.
Emotional Support
Our GuidanceResources Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers a variety of resources to help you prevent cancer, cope with a cancer diagnosis physically and emotionally, and endure cancer care and treatment. Log in to the GuidanceResources website (register with Company Web ID: AECOM) and search “cancer.”
eM Life, Total Brain and on-demand mental health support through Koa provide free access to programs and guidance to help you manage stress, calm your body and relax your mind. Consider joining eM Life’s Mindfulness-Based Cancer Recovery 12-week class starting in March.
If you need someone to talk to, you can also connect with a Global Mental Health Ally, a specially trained AECOM colleague, for mental health support.
Supplemental Insurance Benefits
